REBRANDING AND REPOSITIONING DSCNNCT FESTIVAL FOR THE 2023 SEASON AND BEYOND

The DSCNNCT team approached with a brand they didn’t feel represented them at their core. We started from scratch, channelling the core principles of the brand into a new identity that helps them stand out. With a lot of festivals opting for cartoon-style 2D illustrations, we instead wanted to create an identity which embodied the passion and craftsmanship that goes into creating DSCNNCT festival. The result is a truly unique identity rooted in storytelling.
A key part of rebranding the festival was capitalising on the ‘experience’ we can create for the people who attend. We chose to introduce a name for the theme of the festival which coincides with the artwork design throughout. This year’s theme is ‘Fractured Realities’ and the main artwork features an otherworldly scene, full of colour and depth. The festival’s 7 stages also have their own unique, bespoke illustrated artwork, completed by our in-house team.
Creating a flexible identity system involved developing a logo pack consisting of unique word marks that can be used standalone or in combination with the main icon. Variations of the main icon were also developed to operate at small scales on physical and digital applications where the detailed lines in the icon would not display properly.
